November 25 & 26, 2019 | 8:30am to 4:00pm | Schusterman Library Conference Room

The Schusterman Library will host Software Carpentry with Python on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. You can see more details, including the full schedule, here: https://oulib-swc.github.io/2019-11-25-ou-swc-tulsa

REGISTER HERE: http://bit.ly/outsc2019

Software Carpentry is open to all OU-Tulsa students, faculty, staff, and residents, and also to members of the public.

The two-day Software Carpentry course curriculum will include:

  • The Unix Shell
  • Version Control with Git
  • Programming in Python

The target audience is learners who have little to no prior computational experience, and the instructors put a priority on creating a friendly environment to empower researchers and enable data-driven discovery. Even those with some experience will benefit, as the goal is to teach not only how to do analyses, but how to manage the process to make it as automated and reproducible as possible.

A laptop with the open-source course software pre-installed is required to participate. A link to the free software downloads will be made available to registrants.

Lunch, coffee, and water both days will be provided. Be sure to let us know your dietary restrictions.

Registration is limited to 15 participants, but there will be a waitlist.

Course registration is $20 and can be paid in-person (cash/check/charge) at the Schusterman Library, through online payment, or via departmental billing.

This event is being offered in conjunction with the OU Libraries Data Analytics, Visualization & Informatics Syndicate (DAVIS) as members of the Carpentries.
